every now and then i'll read about a zine which is spoken so highly of that despite my potential lack of interest in the topic i just have to buy it. let me just say this- i am never disappointed. especially with this zine.
i had no idea what to expect, but amanda's "cunt zine" is an amazing zine all about the cunt. literally. a zine full of facts, diagrams and writings about the vagina. it is a half-size zine, full of writing, sketches, photos, quotes. the zine is split up into 5 parts- each one dealing with a different facet of the cunt (for example, part 4 is "cunts ache" and part 2 is "cunt love"). many important topics are dealt with, such as rape, masturbation, menstruation...and why we should be ashamed of none of those things. it has a heavy feminist slant but what else do you expect? this is a zine to teach anybody who wants to know that CUNTS ARE OK. THEY DESERVE OUR RESPECT.
a brave and wonderful choice for a zine. "the cunt zine" is factual and i learnt a lot of new things. for instance, did you know about FGM (female genital mutilation)? that's only the beginning. it is an awesome zine whether you are a girl or a boy. read it!
