"cupcakes..." is an adorable perzine by shannon. it is black and white and contains many photos and bits and pieces about herself. there are lists, pieces on where her identity lies and learning to love herself. each page contains something new about her like a journal entry or a photo.
i remember ordering this zine because i thought the name was cute and i thought perhaps the zine would be cute too. it really is. it's a dinky little zine and shannon is nothing short of sweet. her journal entries are exactly what a perzine should have- a precise snapshot of who the author is. another thing she got extremely right in this zine is that it is not too text heavy and relies on images too. she takes some self-portraits and there is even a sketch of herself.
unfortunately this zine is out of print but i think #3 is still available. the last page includes a recipe for a "classic cosmopolitan" cocktail and she includes little yoga diagrams throughout the zine. adorable!
