triad, 'jesus lives on gratiot', fall 2004

something i adore about vickie's style is her ability to make every zine completely fresh. everything feels new, the ideas, the art, the colours, the topics. it is exciting to recieve it because you never know what each issue will be like.

this issue is hand-sewn bound and has a colour front & back cover with many colour pictures inside. it is such a tidy, classy zine. i love how crisp it is. vickie is such a talented artist, her collage work is always so perfect. everything is in the right place. as for the topics, the main articles are "jesus lives on gratiot" and "anatomy of a panic attack". the latter was so striking and accurate, her emotional distance from the topic gave it great clarity. panic attacks tend to feel like blur after blur at the time, but with reflection vickie has pulled together its "anatomy" and laid it out so that others can understand, even empathise.

the issue includes other bits and pieces, including a writing challenge (if you send her your entry, you get the next copy free!) this zine is stunning.

how to order:
there is info on the particula website about how to order each of the issues.
